From brain to performance

Mind.

Every movement starts as intention. Focus and visualization set the plan.

Our Mission

Enhance performance outcomes in athletics and post-sport life by giving middle school, high school, and collegiate athletes worldwide science-driven guidance and transformative inspiration to invest in their brain's performance and adaptive ability.

Our Vision

We envision a world where brain training is as natural as physical training. By starting with athletics, Cortex Flex promotes daily investment in brain performance so people of all ages can unlock their full potential.

Our Team

Collegiate and pro athlete mentors with backgrounds in neuroscience, medicine, and sports science. We combine laboratory research with on-field excellence to deliver comprehensive brain-based training.

How It Works

  1. 1Step 1

Traditional training builds muscle, but misses the neurological precision needed for elite performance. We target the brain-muscle connection directly, training the nervous system to fire faster, coordinate better, and adapt more efficiently under pressure.

Graduated pressure scenarios expose athletes to controlled stress, building emotional resilience through repeated exposure. Like a vaccine for performance anxiety, each session strengthens your mental armor for game-day intensity.

Meet the Founder

Built by Someone Who Lived It

I grew up in a small rural town but had big dreams to play college football. After experimenting with neuroscience-based training methods in my family's garage, I scrapped my way to a D1 roster spot in the Ivy League, where I combined my pursuits on the field with computational neurophysiology research at Weill Cornell Medical College. After graduating, I worked alongside Dr. Paolo Cassano at Harvard Medical School and became acutely aware of the gap between what neuroscience knows and what developing athletes actually receive.

In 2025, I received a $100,000 grant to study the quality of resilience in the adolescent brain. Months later, my own life demanded resilience when I tore my ACL just days after being pre-registered by the USOPC as a candidate for the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Games. My trajectory through athletics and science—both the good and the bad of it—has lit a fire in me to inspire the next generation to see that the brain is the most powerful tool for enhancing athletic and life performance. Cortex Flex exists to give every athlete access to that lever.

Nate Roy saw the gap between complex neurological research and the athletes who need it most—and closed it. He engaged students in a way that makes abstract ideas feel tangible and personally relevant. The program's strength lies in its ability to reach young people where they are and help them become stronger—mentally, emotionally, and athletically.
